Sloan is a small municipality located between the city of Buffalo and the Town of Cheektowaga in beautiful Western New York (see map at left). With a population of around 3,000, Sloan is a close- knit community of neighbors who truly look out for each other. Many successful businesses also call the Village of Sloan home. Sloan’s government is extremely accessible to its residents. The Clerk/Treasurer’s Office at 425 Reiman Street is open from 9 am-4 pm M-F with extended hours on Wednesdays to allow residents to meet one-on-one with the Village Code Enforcement Officer. All residents are encouraged to attend the monthly meeting of the Village Mayor and the Board of Trustees. Board meetings are held at Village Hall at 7 pm on the second Tuesday of each month. Sloan is part of the Cheektowaga-Sloan school district and property values in the village are quite reasonable in comparison to surrounding areas. This combination has attracted many young families to the Village. Sloan aso boasts a thriving Senior Center which participates in the Erie County Lunch Program every M-F. Our Seniors enjoy a number of outings each year to local casinos, dinner theaters as well trips to learn more of the area’s rich history. During the summer, the Village Recreation Department sponsors weekly events at the Griffith Park Pool Shelter. When school is in session the Village provides an indoor Rec Center that is always supervised so children have a safe place to go to do homework or to just hang out and play games with friends. Thanks to the Sloan Arts Council, residents of all ages enjoy a number of free events which range from concerts in the park to holiday parties to picnics, some of which are for Village residents only.
