From Trustee Paula Bruscani
After months of conversations, studies, and even an onsite walk through, Renaissance Power and Gas
has opted to not bring a solar energy campus to Sloan. The monetary investment required to utilize
property along Lovejoy Street as a solar farm was determined to not be cost-effective for them.
Despite strong opposition from our Board and numerous WNY other municipalities, NYS has passed
legislation that enforces a statewide energy program coupled with restrictions on future natural gas
usage.
Going forward, the Board will be seeking out ways to turn this into a positive for the Village. My goal is to
satisfy our mandate to build renewable energy by seeking grants and investigating ways to produce
future revenue for our Village
